Rules Last Updated: Mar 9, 2010 - 4:18:25 AM

When opening an account a rule book will be sent to your address.

Dear Sir/Madam,
We have great pleasure in placing before you our
credit starting price rules. These rules are for Credit/Debit/Deposit betting
only and can only be used by clients who have definitely placed on our books.
we must request clients to read them over carefully, as the acceptance
of these rules and the opening of an account acts as a contract between our clients and ourselves to accept the whole of the following rules in their entirety, and it is only on these terms that an account will be opened or continued.

               STARTING PRICE RULES
          All previous rules cancelled
These rules are compiled for the convenience of our clients,as it is our ambition to try and ( as far as possible ) avoid disputes and possible complications.

Tattersall's Rules on betting will apply in cases not covered by our rules. All betting done with us must be by telephone only except in cases of private agreements made made by registered letter which hold good untill cancelled again by registered letter.

1.credit Accounts opened
£ 2 50.00 -upwards weekly.

2.our books are always open on all ante post betting races, whether we send out price lists or not.

3.Clients should note that we reserve the right to refuse the whole or any part of any commission offered to us. No commission can be altered or cancelled once they are executed.

4.Starting price commission accepted for all meetings under jockey club and national hunt rules and also for any other races or events advertised in the national or sporting press.

5. An owners or trainers selected.-if an owner or trainer has more than one horse entered and only runs one horse .that horse is selected. In the event of an owner or trainer running two horses or more, the horse starting at the shortest price is the selected. In the event of the owner or trainer running two or more horses which start at the same price the backers stake is equally divided on each horses. The race must also be named or time mentioned.

6.Owners' or trainers' selected will be taken as they appear in the Racing Post on the day of the race.

7.If the client backs an Owner's or Trainer's selected and does not mention time of the race the investment is VOID.

8.Clients are requested when backing Owner's or Trainer's selected to note that there are different Owners and Trainers bearing the same name and training at different quarters.A client often takes the Trainer's or owners selected when according to the RACING POST,the trainer or owner has only one horse entered .When this occurs ,the horse will be taken as the trainer's or owner's selected. Any claim regarding any difference which may arise in the following morning's RACING POST will not be entertained.Clients are warned against taking trainer's or owner's selected from local papers;the RACING POST will be reckoned the only authority in this case.

9.In the case of a dead-heat,the client loses half his stake money and receives the full odds on the other half.for example :if he has
£ 1 on a 3to1 chance, he loses half his stake and has 50p going on at 3to1,consequently he wins £ 1 on the transaction. The price of the other dead-heater does not enter into the bet. In the event of a dead-heat all bets are divided, whether for singles, doubles or accumulators, and as far as clients' bets are concerned,no dead-heats are now run off.In the event of two horses which have dead-heat running again, the second race is a separate race, and does not in any way interfere with the settling for the race in which they have run a dead-heat.

                        FAVOURITES
10.Commissions accepted WIN ONLY for unnamed first and Second favourites:The place part of any each way wager inadvertently accepted will be declared VOID.
In the event of two horses or dogs starting joint favourites they are taken as joint first and second favourites and stakes for either first or second favourites are divided.Where three or more horses or dogs start joint favourites, stakes will be divided proportionately.

Should the favourite or second be withdrawn and insufficient time remains to form a new market, bets on the withdrawn favourite or second favourite will be VOID.

11.Cover to Win bets on favourites where two horses start at the same price, the amount invested remains the same as if there was only one selection,one-half being lost and the other half going on to the full odds e.g. Cover favourite 2.30 to win
£ 12 and there are joint favourites at 3to1 the total invested remains at  £ 4,the sum of £ 2 is lost and the other £ 2 goes on at 3to1, giving a net win of  £ 4. Similar procedure will apply to 3 or more at the price.

12.When a client backs a horse by name he will be on the first race in which the horse runs.

13.Each Way betting will be paid on all races where there are five or more runners, whether the favourite starts odds-on or not.

14.Place betting Non Handicaps-one fifth the odds, eight or more runners 1-2-3.One fourth odds five, six,or seven runners, 1-2.handicaps and non handicaps, unless there is special place betting quoted,or when we ourselves advertise special prices for places.Handicaps twelve to fifteen runners One fourth odds 1-2-3. Handicaps sixteen runners or more One Fourth odds 1-2-3-4.less than five runners all stake money goes on to win.

Handicaps,8 to 11 runners 1/5  1-2-3.
Handicaps,12 to 15 runners 1/4 1-2-3.
Handicaps 16 runners or more 1/4 1-2-3-4.

Where a client places a bet Each Way all on to win' and there are less than 5 runners in the first leg, the whole stake money will be invested for a win and the bet will become a win double.

Each Way doubles and trebles and accumulators calculated thus: Win money will go on for a win, and place money will go on for a place, making two separate bets.
If a double, treble or accumulator is given as each way, it will be calculated as above I.E.win to win ,place to place.
Clients requiring each way all each way ( equally divided ) settlement, must make their intentions clear.

15.A walk over will be counted no race, in the event of a horse which has walked-over running later in the same day, the money will be invested on that race.

16. POSTPONEMENTS.In the event of any meeting or any races being postponed, all bets on these will automatically be cancelled.Clients having made bets on these races wishing to be on when the meeting or races eventually take place, must telephone fresh instructions. This does not apply to ante post bets.

17. Double Events. In the event of only horse running,it will be reckoned as a single.in the case of accumulators,if only two horses run and it will be reckoned as a double, and paid accordingly.

18.Clients backing jockey's mounts in doubles, trebles and accumulators etc. must time the races. If the jockey does not ride in a race selected by a client, that race will be treated as a non-runner.No notice will be taken of any other race in which the jockey rides.

Clients backing jockey's mounts where the jockey rides in both afternoon and evening meetings, must stipulate the meeting at which they desire to back his mounts.

19.Should a client back a double in which two horses run in the same race the money will be equally divided on the two horses.

20.Clients are requested to note that we accept 'If cash' bets but we must ask all clients to make their instructions perfectly clear.
